Cassandra Ybarra was born and raised on the Santa Cruz coast, surrounded by misty redwoods, rocky coasts and nurturing California sunshine. Her creativity was cultivated in the Montessori School system where she thrived and was inspired to pursue acting and creating at the prestigious theatre program at CSU Long Beach. While there, she made splashes with her ambitious, original work creating and directing a massive, colorful play celebrating the complicated, rich life of Frida Kahlo. Amongst many other pursuits as creator, she honed her craft as an actor and was selected to continue her training at the all-encompassing summer intensive with Steppenwolf Theatre Company at CSU Fresno. Upon moving to Los Angeles, she found a niche performing as badass fighters in a variety of short action films while continuing her stage journeys with works such as Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest at Big Bear Theatre Company. One of her proudest accomplishments has been the five years she spent traveling the world as Program Manager, Lead Facilitator and Lead Actor of the social justice theatre company Pure Praxis where she used her craft to teach many different social issues on U.S. Military bases in over a dozen countries around the world. Cassandra brings her full heart to whatever she does, and an opportunity to directly affect change with her talents was an immense gift. She looks forward to incorporating such work throughout her career.
